After Cosmetic Dental Reconstruction
It may take several days to adjust to the feel of your new bite or the shape of your new teeth. Mild sensitivity to hot and cold temperatures, temporary gum soreness, changes in speech, or increased salivation can be normal during the adjustment period.
Care tips: Brush and floss daily / Avoid hard, sticky, or staining foods / Wear your night guard if provided / Let our team know if your bite feels uneven.
After Crown or Bridge Appointments
Crowns and bridges may require temporary restorations while the final restoration is being made. If your mouth is numb after treatment, avoid chewing or drinking hot beverages until the numbness has completely worn off.
Care tips: Avoid sticky or hard foods with temporaries / Floss carefully / Call if a temporary comes loose / Report unevenbite or persistent discomfort.
After Tooth Extraction
After a tooth extraction, it is important for a blood clot to form and remain in place to support healing. Follow the instructions provided by your dental team carefully.
Care tips: Bite gently on gauze / Avoid vigorous rinsing, straws, smoking, or alcohol early on / Limit vigorous exercise for 24 hours / Take medications only as directed.
After Composite Fillings
If anesthetic was used, your lips, tongue, or cheek may remain numb for several hours. Avoid chewing until the numbness has fully worn off.
Care tips: Mild sensitivity may occur / Avoid biting your lip, tongue, or cheek while numb / Contact us if sensitivity increases or bite feels uneven.
